5 Men Drown Off British Beach In Absence Of Lifeguard

British police say five men have drowned off a beach in southern England that had no lifeguard.
Authorities are trying to piece together what happened to the group who traveled together from London to Camber Sands beach on Wednesday 24, August 2016. You will recall that last month, 19-year-old Brazilian Gustavo Silva Da Cruz died after getting into difficulty while swimming at Camber Sands, known for its sand dunes. Reports say a dozen people have died in water-related accidents off British coastlines in recent days.

RNLI Lifeguards Save Two Teenage Kayakers Off South Devon Beach

At about 11:50am on Tuesday 23, August 2016 RNLI lifeguards at Challabourgh and Sedgewell jumped into action after they were alerted by members of the public to two teenagers shouting for help. Lifeguards Howie Atton and Mike Mapson were instrumental in the rescue of the two 14-year-old girls who got into difficulty when their kayaks capsized in a big swell off a popular South Devon beach.

On the same day, Challabourgh RNLI lifeguards also handled a diabetic collapse, while RNLI lifeguards at Sedgewell treated an anaphylactic casualty during the day.

In Langland, Teenagers Who Ignored Lifeguard Warnings Ended Up Being Rescued At Sea

And in Langland, three teenagers who ignored a red flag and advice from lifeguards had to be rescued after getting swept out to sea at Langland. Reports say conditions had prompted lifeguards to raise the red flag on the beach at Langland, meaning the water was unsafe to enter. They also spoke to the three boys before they paddled in. The trio, two with surfboards and one with a bodyboard, had to be rescued by RNLI lifeguard Hamish Addey.

32-Year-Old Man Drowns In Water Park After Lifeguard Dismisses Kids’ Reports In Washington

Meanwhile, In Washington, A 32-year-old man who drowned at a water park over the weekend may have been submerged for 15 minutes before lifeguards found him at the bottom of a pool, according to witness accounts. The victim, Vijayarengan Srinivasan, was a programmer who had moved to Washington state from India just two weeks earlier and died on Saturday in a pool at Wild Waves Water Park. Police say the U.S. water park death comes after a 10-year-old boy named Caleb Schwab was decapitated earlier this month while riding what has been dubbed the world’s tallest water slide at the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City.╚
