New American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Manual Revealed
|NEW REVISED AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARD TRAINING MANUAL OUT THIS WEEK
After having largely been finalized in the Spring & Summer of 2016, the American Red Cross published its revised Lifeguard Training Manual this week. The Lifeguard Manual is revised and updated about every 5 years. The just released edition is significantly larger in size than the 2012 edition, about 100 pages or 25% total.
In addition to some changes in lifeguard training drills and lifeguard certification renewal requirements, the new manual has many new and updated photos. Also the rescue board section has been significantly updated to include new photos that are very detailed in nature.
Photo shoots for the new manual were conducted at Florida Gulf Coast University in Ft. Myers, Florida and Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake, Illinois. One of the lifeguards featured in the new manual, Alec Walsh was also recently featured on the cover of the latest edition Aquatics International magazine entitled New Products 2017.
